Snowball fight?

Looks like snow in Friday's forecast for the NY-based tribers.
It has been a long time since I was pegged in the face by an iced-over snowball... and I know everyone in Brooklyn would love to change that.

Maybe I'm just 34 and I don't want to go to parties anymore!!

This might just be another post for some, but in retrospective it means so much more than just another regular post. This is a call for a celebration!!

On September 27th, 2008, Two worlds are going to collide and I'm going to need the back up of some good ol' friends... In a world of normalcy, we are going to have to point out that this is not going to be just another Mexican wedding... so... (names are not in order) tribe members, Elliott, Miguel, Cristen, Aubrey, Axel, Ara, Carrasquillo, Sammy, Jake, Kate, Little man and Girlfriend, Daniel, Eyes.. and whoever can make it South of the border are welcomed to partake in this celebration!! (Sorry if I forgot to mention someone, but I guess HEB put something in the new Lone Star cans)

I miss you all!! Sometimes I wish Austin was in Monterrey so I could have assholes near... but its not, so September will have to do for a while... then we'll see.

Just a click away!!

ROAD TRIP ROAD TRIP

The Uganda Skateboard Union is a nonprofit that develops skate-parks and clubs for kids in Uganda. Judging from their blog, they're doing amazing work, growing fast, and doing stuff that should be replicable elsewhere.

From the same little shit that gave the new Rambo 5 out of 5 stars...

Can we say issues? Maybe we can send him the tribe's own German child shrink, Dr. G.

These glutes are made for walking...

Remember the "Shoes" video?

well it turns out the lucky s.o.b. mastermind behind the genius video made it onto the small screen, though he has a smaller role than some of his co-actors from his internet show...
Anyhow, the show is called I Hate My 30s and was on VH1 this year. The pilot and 2nd show are available on Yahoo.

and oh yeah, the hot girl that play Carol on the show (and played a vampire in some of the Kelly videos) went to the rival Va. Beach high school that Vagrunt did. Damn. If only I had gone to some of the high school football games... or drama shows?... maybe I would have "made it" by now. Instead, I have to "make it" with my hand.

Yes, Sammy and I have been drinking in front of the projector again.

In Texas, Foosball is some serious shit...

http://www.statesman.com/news/content/gen/ap/TX_Officers_Country_Singer.html

Dallas police officer fired following accusations

DALLAS — Dallas Police Chief David Kunkle has fired two officers accused of holding country music singer Steve Holy and a friend at gunpoint last month during a game of foosball.
The two officers — Randy Anderson, 25, and Paul Loughridge, 48 — each face a charge of deadly conduct in connection with the Dec. 27 incident. "Their behavior that night is disturbing and not consistent with how we expect our Dallas police officers to perform," said Kunkle, who fired them Friday.
In this case, deadly conduct is a Class A misdemeanor that is punishable by a fine of up to $4,000 and one year in jail.
After Holy and his friend met the two officers at a bar, they went back to Holy's house to play foosball, police records said.
According to Dallas police reports, the four were drinking and playing foosball about 5:30 a.m. when Anderson began questioning the identity of Holy, whose songs include "Brand New Girlfriend."
Holy and his friend told police that Anderson and Loughridge pointed their guns at them and told them to get on the ground.
Before the officers left, the report says Anderson told Holy that he'd kill him if he said anything about the incident.
Holy declined to comment on the firings. "I have a lot to say when it's time to say it," he said.
Toby Shook, an attorney representing Holy, said the firings were "a no-brainer on Chief Kunkle's part."
"It's clear that everyone who has looked at the facts of the case have found these two officers aren't credible," Shook said. "They're the ones that got fired. They're the ones that fled the scene that night; the victims called 911 right away."
Loughridge declined to comment about that night except to say, "After listening to the 911 tapes, the level of credibility given these two gentlemen is astounding, and in fact, it's actually scary."
Anderson had no comment except that he said he agreed with Loughridge.
In the 911 call, the operator sounds frustrated by an inability to get information from Holy, who tells her several time that he's a recording artist.
"Here's the problem, ma'am. I'm a recording artist, and — ma'am? Are you listening to me?" he says at one point.
When she tries to ask Holy if the two officers left together, Holy answers: "He put a gun to our heads."
"OK, you told me that at least five or six times," she says. "I have that. I understand that."
Shook has acknowledged that his client had been drinking, but said the confusion heard on the 911 call came from the horror of what happened.

Diving board "A la Slip and Slide"

I thought some of these were funny. We should edit all the falls from the Slip and Slide footage!
Including my classic spin down to cement landing and let's not forget about the one where I'm walking across the plastic and slip and hit the back of my head and I stay laying there for a while until eyes goes to check up on me and I get up and scream "Where's the beeeeeeeer"

Actually, now that I think about it, these are not that funny compared to Slip and Slide, but watch them, you might get a laugh or two... something like that. They're not LMAO!!

The Gas Grabber

Oh good lord. Someone has invented a fart protector. After you've eaten the Thanksgiving turkey equivalent of a horse, some of that tryptophan is going to eventually turn into methane, and you're going to need some serious butt protection like this. This patented Gas Grabber anal pad uses activated charcoal to neutralize those toxic fumes, sparing all of your beloved family members from your willful violation of their airspace by your noxious kamikazes. So far, it's just in the patent application stage, so this special mojo filter won't be available this Thanksgiving. Too bad.

and iran...iran so far away,

couldn't get away

Laura Sonnenmark … drove to the offices of Martin Focus Groups in Alexandria, Virginia, knowing she would be paid $150 for two hours of her time. After joining a half dozen other women in a conference room, she found, to her surprise, that she had been called in to help some of the country’s most prominent hawks test-market language that could be used to sell a war against Iran to the American public. “The whole basis of the whole thing was, ‘we’re going to go into Iran and what do we have to do to get you guys to along with it,’” Sonnenmark, 49, tells Mother Jones.

The client paying for the focus group session, according to Sonnemark, was Freedom’s Watch …read on

Part I of My Interview with Gary

INTERVIEW w/ Gary:

i:So what's new?

Gary:Just enjoying the region.

i:You mean Texas?

Gary:No, well I mean I do like Texas, but
i was referring to the region where
a girl's legs come together.

i:Very well, let's change the subject
What are you up to these days?

Gary:I'm on a bit of a slump right now
I hurt my foot doing a very tricky dance maneuver.

i:So you aren't as active?

Gary:NO, and it shows i think.
Is it me or does this body make me look fat?

i:I hear you used to skate. Miss it much?

Gary:I still rollaround sometimes. The style has changed so much
though, you hardly see skaters wearing bowties anymore.

i:What was your signature move?

Gary:Where people usually carve,I widdle.

i:It sounds like you set very high standards for yourself.

Gary:Well I mean , I do. I tend to find tough solutions
to simple problems. I use math and sometimes it's impossible!

Sam loves the "walking taco"...

Frito pie (also known as "Frito Chili Pie," "Frito Boat", "Chili Frito Casserole" or, in the Midwest, a "Walking Taco") is a corn chip and chili con carne dish of disputed origin, popular in the South Western United States.

A basic Frito pie typically consists of a small single-serving bag of Fritos corn chips, with a cup of chili poured over the top, usually finished up with grated cheese or onions and jalapeƱos and sour cream. [1] Because there are so many Fritos compared to the amount of chili, only part of the Fritos will get saturated by the chili, and most will stay at least partly crunchy.

In the Midwestern United States, there is a variation called a "walking taco". Along with Fritos, Nacho Cheese Doritos are commonly used as the chip base, and the meal is almost always eaten "in the bag". Another difference between a walking taco and a Frito pie is that walking tacos rarely have chili in them, using seasoned beef or pork instead. After the meat goes in the bag, it is finished with cheese, lettuce, tomato, salsa, sour cream, or any taco-friendly topping the eater wishes. Walking tacos are popular in the Midwest at sports venues, fundraisers, open houses, and more recently, the Iowa State Fair.
