dudes

i would like to copy-paste something funny or relevant, but all I can think of is Ice Pirates.

Lil man and i sat through this space oddity, braving the jokes and pony tails. Since at least half of the readers/contributors of TSPT work at a video store, maybe we could have a round table talk in the comments section. Castration, new fonts, and some really quirky robots all show up in this digital delight. The ending is really good, btw, totally worth the time investment.

This movie is "like an entire movie of deleted scenes on a DVD you got for free at the grocery store."

Oh wait, that was a review for the upcoming Foot Fist Way, -it was intended to be a bad review, but only made me want to see it sooner.

Title of my master's thesis: Ice Pirates presents a singular narrative regarding the postmodern deluge and subsequent decline of antiquarian robotic leitmotifs.

To bolster this thesis
about Ice Pirates' singular narrative of the decline of robots you must include arguments and examples outside of the movie.

Robots have moved from the postmodern to the modern in today's cinema. From Johnny 5 to the robot that Rocky bought to Pixar's next cute hit.

But what about the reinvention of the Battlestar Galactica series? Could BG's final season awaken its audience to the realization that they already are Cylons (i.e. robots)?

Perhaps the human/robot hybrid of Iron Man warrants more discussion?

Or maybe tobor is robot spelled backward?

Funny that that you should mention Battlestar Galactica. Having just watched the miniseries last night, it's apparent there's a common ending to both (IP & BSG). Namely, finding the 3rd planet.

Also, isn't tobor austin spelled backward?

Johnny 5 represents the atavistic abortion that is steve gutenberg.
